Description

Summary: Like the Les Paul, the ES-335 stands as one of Gibson's all-time most iconic models. The ES-335 is a semi-hollowbody guitar which means that it has a solid block of wood running through its center with hollow wings on either side. This construction style maintains the open tone of a hollowbody while helping to reduce feedback. The ES-335 was introduced in 1958 and has remained in production in various forms ever since. Starting in 1981, the model was referred to as the ES-335 Dot in reference to its use of dot inlays like the original models from the late '50s. In 1990, it was renamed the ES-335 Reissue. This particular ES-335 was made in 2013 & it features a satin finished body and it comes with the original Gibson hard shell case.

Body: Semi-hollow electric guitar with a beautifully figured maple top, back & sides. This instrument has a fully bound top, back & neck.

Neck: Fully bound mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays, Kluson Deluxe tuning keys, a 24.75” scale length and a nut width of 1 11/16”. The frets are in great shape & have a ton of life left in them!

Pickups/Hardware: Two humbucker pickups, 2 volume knobs & 2 tone knobs and a 3-way switch. Chrome hardware, black pickguard, ES-335 Truss rod cover

Cosmetics: This 2013 Gibson does show normal wear associated with a well-played guitar. There are lots of pick scratches on the pickguard and on the body near the pickguard. There are a few small dings on the body but nothing major & you will have to look up close to find them. There are lots of surface scratches in the guitar that you can see if you hold it up close but there are no cracks or structural issues.

Playability: This Gibson has been set up by our in-house Luthier with 10’s and it plays great. The action is low and the guitar plays great up & down the fingerboard.
