The ES-335TD (and its variants) is one of Gibson’s most important contributions to electric guitar design. With its semi-hollow body and added solid center block, a traditional Gibson carved-top and “F” hole construction, it kept the traditional Gibson appearance – thinning the body depth was the “trigger” that turned it into one of the prototypical blues/rock machines!
This example is one of the most rare examples of this model – Gibson produced a very small number in natural finish (the “N” in the model number), plus this is a one-off with a custom-ordered ES-345 fretboard. We purchased this from the late Scott Chinery's collection.
Only 554 ES-335’s of ALL types were produced in 1960 - only a tiny percentage have a natural finish. With a slim 1960 neck it plays very fast, and the original PAF pickups give it a tonal range from sweet to a rocking roar. Comes with original Gibson hardshell case & Bigsby tailpiece.
This is a one-of-a-kind example of what we specialize in - and an ES-335 collector's dream guitar! It was previously on hold and only became available again on the open market a short while ago - and it probably will not last long!
