Description

This example is a truly exquisite 1960 Gibson ES-335 in its original Sunburst finish. This particular 335 was a bit of an enigma when it arrived in our shop. When we were authenticating it, we noticed that it sported Mallory pots with nylon shafts, which would be irregular for this time. However, further inspection concluded that this guitar had never been apart. After reaching out to some friends in the business, we found two other original 335 examples from this period with the same pots and shafts, with serial numbers only a few digits off from ours. Bringing our investigation to a close and feeling like we’ve solved our mystery, we feel confident that this guitar is all original, pots and shafts included! Aside from this unique spec, this instrument retains its two iconic PAF humbucking pickups that still retain their stickers! This finish is a stunning, warm Sunburst, highlighting a particularly beautiful selection of maple. Check out the birds-eye figuring on the back of the guitar, too!

Overall Condition: 8.5, overall clean look with light wear, patina, and finish checking
