1959 Gibson ES-345 Sunburst, Excellent, Original Hard, $17,000.00

Super clean and original 59 ES-345 from late in the year. Unusually dark and vibrant original sunburst finish in excellent condition-a couple of dings and a few small scuffs on the back and some light checking all over. The front is remarkably ding free. A lot of the gold plating has worn off but the guitar doesn't show much wear and the frets are original and in good shape. This is December 59 so it has the gold Varitone ring and the medium chunky neck. Original stoptail-never had a Bigsby. PAFs. This guitar has been converted to mono with the original Varitone in the circuit (done right, too-not just a mono jack). The original stereo harness-minus the Varitone and choke (which are in the guitar) is in the case. Tuner tips are shrunken which is typical of 59's but they still work. I would suggest a set of repro tuners and retire these to the case pocket or re-tip them. They're OK now but they will eventually crumble to dust. Case is a brown with pink Stone.
