Description

Back in 1959 somebody at Gibson really knew how to shoot a sunburst. This is a really attractive later 59 ES-345.
The guitar has been converted to 335 spec but the pickups were left out of phase-I will put them in phase but that requires opening a pickup so I wanted to show it with sealed PAFs before I messed up the solder (although I can do a very neat job). Out of phase only affects the middle position of the three way-it makes it thinner and honkier. Everything is original on this guitar but the tuners. The tuners on it are later 60's but I can swap those for brand new repro Klusons or aged Gotohs if you want modern functionality. The guard has a name engraved on it that has been blacked out. The photo shows a repro guard on the guitar. There is some minor neck wear. There is some checking. There are no touchups or repairs. Frets are original and still OK. Neck profile is the slimmer transitional 59 profile-not the baseball bat of the early 59's. The original stereo harness is included and is in one piece. Guitar is light at 7 lbs 10 ounces. Pickups read 8.07K bridge and 7.97K neck. Case is original Lifton.
