Description

This 64 ES-345 is bone stock. Still stereo, still has the Varitone and still a factory stop tail. Never had a Bigsby, never had Grovers, never modded in any way other than a re-fret. Nice medium neck profile that gets pretty chunky by the 12th fret that 64's are famous for. With stop tail 64 ES-335's listing at well over $20,000, a 345 starts making sense as an alternative for the player who wants the great 64 patent number pickups and all the playability of its very expensive sibling. Even Bigsby 64's are moving into the mid to high teens, so a stop tail 345 should be at least in the low teens, right? Well, not this one. It has considerable player wear at the right arm and on the back. The clear lacquer has flaked away in those two areas although it seems pretty stable now. The rest of the finish is vibrant and clean. If looks don't matter but everything else does, this might be the one. I will convert to mono and remove the Varitone if you so desire. Case looks like 80's.
