DESCRIPTION
Elegant! For your consideration a 1973 Gibson ES-345 TDSV in Black. First introduced in 1958 the ES-345 is essentially a souped up ES-335. Semi-hollow with the same body dimensions and two humbuckers. The main difference is its unique “Varitone” 6 way switch, a stereo output and gold hardware. The “Varitone” allows you to select different frequency scoops by running your signal through a variety of capacitors. This is great for adding all sorts of textures to a recording or loop, as well as getting sublet inflections in a solo.

Specs! This ES-345 is all original. Gold Gibson deluxe tuners. Nut width measures 1-5/8″. Three piece mahogany neck with a depth measuring .78″ at the first fret and 1″ at the 12th. 24.75″ scale length. Bound rosewood fingerboard with a 12″ radius. Original 22 frets. Laminate maple back and sides. Black finish with Cream binding. Two Gibson Patient stamped humbuckers. Original wiring with Varitone and stereo output. ABR-1 bridge with trapeze tailpiece. Comes with its original hard shell case. Weighs 8 pounds and 8 ounces.

Its hard to believe this guitar is almost 50 years old! The Patient stamp humbuckers sound killer. Combine them with the “varitone” and stereo output your in for a world of sound sculpting! The stereo output would be great for any modern effect with stereo in. Fast comfortable neck. Truly a joy to play. If your looking for a great studio guitar with lots of options this is it!
