From the classic years at Gibson comes this superb playing and sounding ES-345 that’s ready to rock!

This has been one of Drew Berlin’s go-to guitars on stage and in the recording studio for some time. With some new acquisitions he felt it was time to let a new owner enjoy it - and enjoy it is an understatement!

It’s a real beauty - Nicely aged original sunburst finish, factory-original stop tailpiece (no filled Bigsby holes on this one), the very desirable, rounded ’59 neck profile, and a professional refret for improved playability.

The tuners were replaced at one time, but the originals kept with the guitar and reinstalled. It has 2 original Gibson PAF pickups (not rewinds, but not original to the guitar) and one exceptional feature is its weight - it is quite light at 7.6 pounds! Very comfortable on the strap and easy to play all night!

It has the tone you’d expect of a ’59 Thinline with PAF’s and the reinforcing center block specific to the 345, 335 and 355 series - medium output, punchy, excellent string-to-string separation and exceptional clarity, with a wide tonal range - from stinging lead tones to smooth jazz sounds - and great sustain. For years the VariTone was overlooked by some players, but lately has been rediscovered as providing additional tonal variety and versatility without compromise.

1958/59/60 Gibson Semi-Hollow Thinlines (Es 345’s, 335’s and 355’s) are outstanding alternatives to similar-year Les Pauls at a much more attainable price point. This one, with its minor maintenance upgrades and original/original type parts restoration, is unusually accessible! And whoever is lucky enough to buy this one is going to get a lifetime companion that’s sure to please!
