This 1967 Gibson ES-345TD thin body, double cutaway semi-hollow guitar has a very sweet warm tone with good pickup output. It was built in the Gibson plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A rich bright tobacco sunburst finish compliments the gold hardware. The dual f-hole body is maple with a solid maple block down the middle that results in nice sustain. Triple binding can be found on the top with single binding on the back and fretboard. The neck is mahogany with a rosewood fretboard that has 22 frets and a scale length of 24.75". Double parallelagram pearloid inlays on the neck are striking. The neck is slim tapered with a 1 9/16" nut and the neck joins the body at the 19th fret. Weight of the guitar is 8.4 pounds. A crown peghead inlay with the Gibson logo and truss rod cover that say "Stereo" complete the headstock details. An orange Gibson label inside the guitar matches the six digit serial number 000047 that is stamped on the back of the headstock. The electronics include two original humbucker pickups with patent numbers, two tone and tone volume controls with black witch hat knobs, a six posiiton rotary varitone switch that adds color and reduces the low end, and a three position toggle switch. The guitar has stereo wiring for use with two different amps or a single two channel amp. Other features include a black four ply pickguard, Kluson deluxe gold tuners with plastic buttons, a tune-o-matic bridge with nylon brdige saddles, and a trapeze tailpiece. Wear includes a limited number of body dings and scratches, a couple of wear spots on the treble side of the neck, average fretwear, some wear on the top corners of the headstock, one blemish on the bass side of the guitar, one area on the binding at the upper bout and fretboard wear on the first two frets of the fretboard. The instrument is all original except the missing gold pickup covers. Overall, this ES-345TD is in good condition with lots of life remaining. Freddie King, the blues guitarist known as "The Texas Cannonball" played a Gibson ES-345TD. This 1967 Gibson is a versatile guitar that works perfectly, is easy on the eyes, has a smooth rhythm, and good access to higher frets. It comes with a new hardshell case.
