The ES-355 is kind of the Bentley of the ES line. It's classy and a little showy but always in good taste. The mono version is the one everybody wants-it's identical to a 335 circuit but has a vibe all its own. Ebony board rather than rosewood, real MOP inlays rather than plastic, fancy bindings, fancy headstock inlay, gold hardware and nearly aways with a Bigsby. This original (except the frets) 1960 is the "watermelon" red that was used in 58 and 59 and went away in mid to late 60, so this is probably one of the last of the watermelon red 355's. It is a gorgeous guitar with excellent playability and tone. It has been re-fretted with medium jumbo frets. It has a pair of well matched long magnet PAFs at 8.05K and 7.85K. Pot codes are 47th week of 1959. Like an early 335, the circuit features bumblebee caps (these were gone by the end of 60 as well). Condition is very good to excellent-only the gold hardware shows any significant wear. Original brown with pink interior case. More photos coming.
