Description

Summary: This classic Gibson tone machine plays and sounds as good as it looks! This ES-300 is in great shape for its age. The ES-300 was one of Gibson's early high-end electronic archtop guitars.

Body: Mahogany back & sides with a laminated top.

Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fretboard & awesome abalone block inlays. The nut width is 1.75".

Electronics/Hardware: P-90 pickup that sounds really nice!

Cosmetics: The guitar shows normal wear for a vintage guitar including visable checking and various nicks & dings including some buckle wear on the back. The tailpiece is not original & there is a strap button that has been added onto the heel of the neck. Fortunately, this guitar does not exhibit the under neck "top drop" that is so common with examples of this instrument. This guitar is missing the pickguard and missing the tuning key ferrel on the D string. The back of the headstock shows residue from the sticker that was there from the original retailer (Wurlitzer Music in Boston Mass). This guitar has binding on the front, back, neck & peghead. There are a couple of small screw holes on the side where the pickguard was once attached and there are a few screw holes visible at the bottom of the guitar where the original tailpiece was once attached. There is no structural damage or cracking in this guitar.
The high E-tuning key is slipping a little bit. We are happy to install a new replacement set of tuners and include the orignal tuners with the guitar at no extra charge to the buyer.

Playability: This guitar plays great - the action is low and the neck is a pretty chunky "C" style. The frets are in good shape and they do have some life left in them.

Weight: 5 lbs, 8oz.

Case: Aftermarket TKL hardshell case.
