1963 Gibson Everly Brothers J-180 Black

I never thought I'd sell my Everly but I don't play it much any more and these guitars don't like to sit in their cases. They are perhaps the best "strummer" guitar ever made-the big guards keep the bottom end under control and they are as balanced as any guitar ever made for that reason. It sounds like Phil and Don. The problem with the Everly is that the celluloid guards are prone to off gassing. Nearly every one I've seen in the past fifteen years has had evidence of this-except for this one which is why I bought it. The black finish is the one to own-they made only 150 in 62-63 which are the premier years. Besides the black finish and big double guards, the star inlays, unique pinless bridge and nickel waffleback tuners make the Everly a very unusual and distinctive Gibson. It looks like no other and sounds like no other. I've just about talked myself out of selling it. Original case.
