Description

This Gibson Firebird was made by Gibson in the USA in 1965. It has an awesome and rare original custom color gold finish, known as "Golden Mist Poly". The guitar has been somewhat modified with a stop tailpiece and a pair of Dimarzio humbuckers. While this is not great in the originality department, the Dimarzios sound incredible and this is a killer playing and sounding firebird. Also, whoever installed the humbuckers was able to do so without routing the body, only the pickguard, so the electronics on this one could hypothetically be restored to original specs. Of course there is no undoing the stop tailpiece that has been installed but that is also an improvement in terms of sustain and staying in tune. The tuners are also not original. There are no breaks or repairs and the guitar weighs 7 pounds and 5 ounces. The modified pickguard, truss rod cover, knobs, and pots are all original. The guitar has been pro set-up in our store and plays great. It comes with a non original hard case.
