1964 Gibson Firebird III Sunburst

It just doesn't get much cooler than the Gibson Firebird! The radical body design was the result of a collaboration with famed automobile designer Ray Dietrich after several Gibson designs failed to catch on with consumers. The series of guitars that followed featured a host of features unlike any other instrument in Gibson's catalog: neck-thru construction for unsurpassed resonance, two "Mini Humbucking" pickups with the same noise-cancelling properties of their larger predecessors but with a brighter, snappier response, closer to that of a single coil pickup, "banjo" style tuners, and of course, the famous "Reverse" body design that immediately call to mind the tailfin of a classic car. This 1964 example features the perfect '64 Gibson "D" neck profile with a dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays, and a short Maestro tremolo tailpiece.
