Deeply love my job here at GuitarDesires with all the incredible things our customers bring us to sell for the highest net proceeds anywhere! So excited to bring this one to market for your consideration!

From our brokerage client, it's a stunning and historic find straight from under a bed in Omaha! We've all seen the blue Gibson reissues and the Epiphones. There's a reason they remade thall these in Pelham Blue as it's one of the rarest of Gibsons custom colors. Most guitar folk on the planet have never seen a real one of these because few exist!

Here, finally, is the real thing. All 7 lbs 11 ozs. This is not a drill!

It's a simply beautiful all original Vintage 1968 Gibson Firebird VII in the ultra rare Pelham Blue custom color in Near Mint condition with OHSC. This instrument is in extraordinarily fine Collector Grade shape with the barest minimum or handling wear and no playwear whatsoever.

The sweet and even greening of the nitrocellulose finish and very light finish checking make this beauty glow and reflect a turquoise luminosity with some blue Pelham gleaming through. The body, neck, and peghead all in near untouched perfection as shown. Finish is very near perfect and this is in unbelieveable shape overall with only the smallest marks, all shown in the close ups.

One of the coolest Gibsons I've ever laid my mitts on and it's just lovely in every way possible!

Also know that the guitar was imaged with daylight settings completely in 5000K lighting so the ipictures are very close colorwise. We also examined the instrument with a blacklight and it was totally uniform including the control cavity.

In that body pickup rout and control cavity we could also still see the buffing compound and smell the air from the late 1960s at 225 Parsons St in Kalamazoo Michigan! The potentiometers, wiring, pickups and switch all authenticate perfectly as well along with the Original Hardshell Case! This one is just a killer find.

My guess is that this lovely was only super lightly handled and/or played by a person with a somewhat acidic sweat profile as the Lyre vibrola and the pickups show some typical oxidization of the gold plate but no real wear. Also 53 years in humid Omaha will sometimes impart a special patina sheen of the great American midwest! In any case, we left it as found.

And, aside from the myriad of folks who have made these 1960's Firebird guitars and their pickups into legandary icons, let me say that this guitar sounds simply amazing with some of the most unique sound combinations. I was able to get nearly any tone by fiddling around and it plays like a dreamy fretless wonder with these cool big 1968 frets and impeccable action and feel. The neck, neckback, fretboard, and frets are utterly untouched on this instrument and it's a real time-capsule - it simply was never played.

Hard to overstate the rarity of this guitar in this color. We see sunburst all the time and occasional white and rarer red. Never in my life have I ever seen a blue one and sure hope it brings joy to it's next lucky collector!
