In 2008, Gibson released a limited run of the Flying V to honor 50 years of production. Number 0325 from the "Guitar of the Month" seires and comes with the original hardcase.
With this model they added Steinberger Gearless tuning keys. An art deco style Gibson logo that was actually found in legendary Gibson President, Ted McCarty's old desk along with a bunch of other drawings. A beveled mahogany body with a AA flamed maple top, set mahogany neck with a bound ebony fretboard, pearl split-block inlays, a bound headstock, and a special finish made specifically for this limited run called Brimstone Burst.
When it came in it need a new nut, so we hand-carved a bone nut for it.
Loaded with '57 Classic Plus in the bridge and a '57 Classic in the neck and given a master volume and master tone control.
The body has some small surface dings, bonks, scuffs and scratches here and there but nothing major. Both strap button have been moved from their original location and were swapped out with Schaller strap lock buttons. The output jack cavity plate was replaced with an aftermarket plate. There is a spot on the back of the body, near the apex of the V, where it appears something had reacted with the finish and left a pattern in the finish. Though the frets have basically zero wear anywhere.
Has a 1 11/16" nut width, 34 3/4" scale length, and weighs 7 pounds 6 ounces.
