Description

Here’s a really interesting Gibson acoustic that will surprise you with its unique tone and clarity. What sets this guitar apart is its arched maple back which offers a different tonality than the more traditional mahogany or rosewood flat-backed dreadnaughts. There’s a punch and clarity to this guitar that we just adore.

Gibson initially produced the Gospel from 1972 to 1979. Twenty years later, from 1992 to 1997 a reissue model, with mahogany in place of maple, was offered.

Aside from some finish checking and a few minor dings and light scratching, the guitar is in very good cosmetic shape. The fingerboard and frets are in fine condition. The guitar plays very well with medium low action. The bridge has been shaved down and will need to be replaced somewhere down the road, but it could be years away.

If you’re looking for an acoustic that will support vocals beautifully and also be able to hold its own in a band setting, this Gibson Gospel would be a great choice. The guitar has a passive under-saddle pickup installed. Come check it out in our shop or give us a call and we’re happy to provide more details.
