Description

Here we have a 1939 Gibson HG-00 that has been converted from Hawaiian style to Spanish style. This is a common conversion to reset the neck angle to make the guitar playable as a Spanish style rather than lap style. The neck profile is a substantial vee shape which has not been shaved down from its original profile. It’s a handful, but the vee shape makes it more comfortable than the old school baseball bat necks. We find it very playable, but people looking for slim necks need not apply.

The gloss black finish is vibrant and relatively clean with just a patina of play wear and minor dings which lend a vintage look. Original tuners with replaced black buttons. Original Rosewood bridge with replaced saddle. Nut has also been replaced. No cracks or repairs. The guitar has been set up in-house and is playing great up and down the neck.

Beautiful Firestripe pickguard complements the black finish so well. This is a fine looking and playing instrument that will not disappoint. Comes with its original softshell case, too.
