Offered here is another incredible LP from the folks at Historic Makeovers. This beauty started off as a 2014 Gibson '58 Reissue and was then transformed by way of a complete Historic Makeovers 'Deluxe' rebuild which was just completed this month (April, 2016).
Already an incredible Les Paul with all the improvements Gibson made starting in 2013, this guitar then received a $4K 'Deluxe Makeover' which includes a complete replacement of the fretboard with Brazilian Rosewood, 50's style cellulose inlays, a vintage style truss rod without sheathing and a complete refret. The neck is also reshaped to a 50's correct shape with proper rolled shoulders. The neck shape on this guitar was modeled after Joe Bonomassa's "Magellan," a real vintage '59 and now has depth measurements of .92" at the first fret and 1.00" at the 12th fret. Finally, the guitar is completely refinished and aged to your specifications with period-correct aniline dyes, nitrocellulose lacquer and Royalite binding.
The resulting guitar is closer to a real '58 LP than even a $10K True Historic from the Gibson Custom Shop, plus you get a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard! This guitar is absolutely amazing in terms of how realistic it looks, plays, feels and sounds, rivaling or exceeding the best LP's made, including those from Yaron, Bartlett and others and it is a real, albeit much better, Gibson! This one weighs just 8.2 pounds and is nicely balanced. The pickups and hardware are original to the guitar. Upgraded pots, caps and wiring harness, along with Retrospec knobs, switch tip and trim ring were added during the makeover process. It has been lightly aged by the pros at Historic Makeovers and the result is incredibly realistic. It comes in a brown Lifton-style reissue LP case, both the original Gibson Custom and Historic Makeovers certificates and the hang tags, etc. This is a fabulous LP that will please even the most demanding Les Paul aficionado. Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
