This is a Gibson model that combines an acoustic guitar with electric elements.Electric AcousticReleased in 1954, the J-160E is widely known as John Lennon's favorite guitar for many years.
The model introduced here is a reissue model based on the highly acclaimed 1964 J-160E. The round shoulder and jumbo type body is equipped with P-90 magnetic pickups. Plywood is used for the top material, and combined with ladder bracing construction, it is designed to suppress feedback caused by excessive live sound.
The result is a sweet, warm P-90 sound with the dry percussive resonance of an adjustable bridge.
