Description

Summer sale price. 1956 J-185, sounds fantastic. The last time I had one of these Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, and Ricky Skaggs were all very interested in it. Ricky ended up buying it and the last time I saw him he had just played it at the Grand Ole Opry. This model is very rare and desired because of the unique sound.

According to a Vintage Guitar Magazine article written by George Gruhn, "The J-185 is regarded by many players and collectors as the finest-sounding Gibson flat-top made after World War II. The only flat-top of its size and shape made by Gibson in the 1950s, the company offered nothing comparable even in its pre-war catalogs, and though it is in many ways similar to the J-200, it’s a very different instrument."

This one is all original except for the bridge pins and has only one repaired back crack. Original case. Orange paper label. 10,250 dollars.
