1954 Gibson J 185 "Natural"

The Gibson J-185 is both a rare and highly coveted flat top from Gibson's "golden age" of guitar design. Like the J-200 model it features maple back and sides, spruce top, and Jumbo body, but with a smaller body size. This results in a balanced tone with plenty of projection and an unmistakably Gibson tonal character. These models rarely appear for sale making this "player grade" example a great find. It has been professionally refinished and features a new pickguard, as well as a re-set neck and sanded bridge to ensure it plays perfectly all the way up the fingerboard. It retains the original "maltese cross" inlaid bridge and highly figured flame maple back. A stunning instrument with a great sound perfect for a player looking for their new work horse!
