DESCRIPTION
For your consideration a 1968 Gibson J-45 ADJ in a Sunburst finish. Its hard to beat a good J-45 for that big dreadnought sound! The model was originally introduced in 1942 as a way for Gibson to compete with Martins “D” models. It is probably one of the most famous acoustic models ever made because of the long list of incredible players who used them. Woody Guthrie, John Lennon, David Gilmour, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly, Eliott Smith!, just to name a few.

Specs! This guitar has had a refret. It has a new custom made adjustable bridge and maple bridge plate. Original rosewood saddle. At some point some other tuners were on it but it currently has its period correct tuners. Gibson Deluxe tuners. Nylon nut width measure 1-9/16″ (Skinny). Mahogany neck with a depth of .82″ at the first fret and 1.12″ at the twelfth fret. Rosewood fingerboard. It has a 24.75″ scale length. It has been refretted with 20 Jumbo frets that are in excellent condition. Spruce top with mahogany back and sides in a sunburst finish. Original ’68 Gibson logo pick guard. Comes with its original soft shell case. Weighs 4 pounds and 8 ounces.

If you geek out on the small stuff like us then you known its got the Gibson logo on the pick guard! They only did this in 1968. If your looking for that big dreadnought sound with a slim fast neck, this is your ticket! The 1-9/16″ nut makes everything in the cowboy chord zone feel a little closer. Add in the slim neck, you’re gonna be blazing through your bass runs! Very fast comfortable neck. Sound wise its got that classic big warm booming J-45 sound. Tons of projection off the treble side. Extremely playable and the refret is such an awesome bonus that is sure to keep this guitar play for year to come! Classic looks paired with amazing playability and sound, we’ve got a winner!
