Gibson launched the J-55 dreadnought in 1939.
This folk guitar is initially released with round shoulders, mahogany back and sides, Tortoise pickguard, ebony fingerboard, mustache bridge, sunburst finish and binding. This first version will be produced from 1939 to the end of 1942.
In 1973, Gibson reintroduced this quality model, with different characteristics.
Guitare Collection presents this beautiful 1976 J-55, in a very good condition, in natural finish, with a Tortoise pickguard.
A fairly rare instrument among Gibson's vintage acoustic offerings.
Its rosewood fingerboard offers a nice roundness to the sound, and a pleasant touch.
A folk guitar with a large projection coming from an efficient x-bracing.
This dreadnought is entirely original, and particularly well preserved for its 45 years.
Note that the visible crack between the end of the fingerboard and the rosette has been professionally repaired and has no impact on the sound.
