This 1933 Gibson L-00 FON #710 is in very good condition. This instrument shows signs of play wear, use and age throughout (see photos). This instrument has three back cracks - one long one and two much shorter ones (3”). These have been professionally repaired and cleated. They are very solid and the repairs are several years old. There are no cracks in the top or sides. The finish is original and blacklights correctly with no funny business. The neck angle is optimal. The original bridge has been professionally re-glued. The top is very flat. There are no loose braces and the truss rod is operational. This instrument has been professionally set up and had a new bone saddle made for it. The saddle is medium height and the original nut is present and in great shape. This guitar has an excellent feeling chunky V shaped neck profile that feels very nice and comfortable. The frets are in excellent shape, are medium height and don’t have any dents or divots in them. The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is also very clean. This guitar has been professionally set up and it plays absolutely outstanding. The saddle is medium height and could be lowered if desired. The original tuners are fully functional and hold tune well. This instrument is housed in a non original hard shell case.

This 1933 Gibson L-00 is a wonderful sounding and playing example. We have played many of these models over the years and this one does not disappoint. As a fingerpicking instrument, the guitar excels at whatever you want to play. It is especially good for ragtime and country blues with its clear articulate tone and fantastic playability. As a flatpicking instrument, the guitar is well suited for old-time rhythm and folk lead. It would also make a great songwriting instrument as it is quite comfortable to play and would travel well. If you are looking for a 1930s L model Gibson flat top guitar, this example is certainly worth considering. We like playing it quite a lot and think you will, too.
