Very nice 1918 Gibson L 1. No cracks or neck issues. Plenty of player wear, but nothing excessive. Tuners are StewMac golden age square plates in relic nickle. Newer bridge. Tailpiece is a faithful reproduction of the curious plastic-bar type trapeze, but my repro is made of modern acrylic rather than the original celluloid that is prone to rotting. The metal part is a c. 1950 nickle unit very similar to an original. Chip at top of headstock. Some sloppy finish touch-up on back where the pickguard brackets used to go. BTW, there hasn't been a pickguard on this guitar in ages, as there is no evidence in the patina on the front. Slight side/back seam movements at bottom and at shoulders. Likely back has shrunk. I put in a few very small drops of Titebond (with syringe) just to keep everything stable and to eliminate any vibrating. You can tap the guitar anywhere with no rattling whatsoever. However, you still could easily and cleanly hot-knife the back off should you ever choose to do any surgery. I'd leave well enough alone, though, especially in this price range. Plays easily and has totally old-timey tone. Not much volume and projection - these are old-fashioned guitars - but nice subtle roots music tone. All in all a superb Orville-era Gibson at a very affordable price. Good quality but non-original hard case.

Real charges only - no added materials or handling charges. All guitars insured for full value. I will use the least expensive shipping available, although this may be slow in some circumstances (e.g. parcel post). Please let me know if you desire a faster, albeit more, expensive service. Please allow 2 - 4 days of time to prepare and pack your guitar IN ADDITION to the actual shipping transit.

NO buyer's remorse PLEASE! Damage or loss in shipping = insurance claim (with which I will be glad to assist you). At my discretion, a disatistfied buyer may return a guitar (with a thorough explanation) for a full refund of purchase price but not of shipping. I'd rather begrudgingly take back a guitar than truly disappoint a customer. If, however, I have ever made a serious error in identification/originality/damage etc. that negatively affects a guitar's value, then a full refund including shipping will be given. PLEASE file any return claims ASAP - seven days at most.
