1931 Gibson L-10 in excellent condition. This is one of about six of these guitars we know to exist. It is the earliest version just like the one featured in the 1932 catalogue. When it was introduced the L-10 was second only to the L-5. George Gruhn famously owns the very first known L-10 which is essentially a black L-5. This is from the same batch of guitars as the other early L-10 we had some years ago and its construction is identical. This guitar has the desirable maple three piece neck and solid braces. The guitar is crack free and in wonderful original condition. We reset the neck to the proper original bridge height, gave it new frets and a repro pickguard made to original spec. It plays perfectly and has a sound only found in late 20s early 30s Gibson archtops. It is similar to L-5s of the era but the rosewood fingerboard gives a slightly different sound especially to the attack of the note. It has a warm woody tone but still has bite when played hard. A fine and rare guitar, not to be confused with the later mahogany neck versions. Includes original hard case.
