Description

You’ll have to remind yourself that this 1917 Gibson L-3 in Red Mahogany is over 100 years old when playing it because it sounds remarkably good! This well-preserved example is an exceptional piece that demonstrates Gibson’s workmanship of the period. To top it off, this comes to us directly from the original owner’s family, who even preserved the original hardshell case in which it was sold! The finish and hardware on this piece are entirely original; even this celluloid pickguard and tailpiece are original and free of any serious breaks! This huge V-neck vibrates when playing, and although large, it is easily wieldable in hand. The only work done to this piece is to the bridge, which was lowered for a more comfortable action. This guitar also sports a modern repro end pin.

Overall Condition: 7, playwear, age to the finish, and patina
