Gibson / L-5 Custom Factory Modification

The L-5 was introduced in 1923 as Gibson's first archtop guitar with f-holes.
At the time of its release, it was more expensive than any other acoustic guitar, even more expensive than Martin's Style-45.
It remained Gibson's flagship model until the introduction of the Super400, and the L-5 was so highly regarded as an archtop guitar that subsequent makers began making pickup guitars modeled after the L-5.

This model is a 1950 L-5.
The 17" non-cutaway body was probably refinished in black at the Gibson factory, and the neck was converted to a "Super400" neck.
The tailpiece was also changed to Super400, and the appearance has the beauty of Les Paul Custom "Black Beauty", and the Beckow binding applied in detail further enhances the dignity of the body.

In terms of sound, the guitar is more massive than other archtop guitars, and is described as crisp and clear.
The balance of each string is very good, so you can feel the solid nuance when stroking tension chords and fractional chords.
It can play a very important role as a rhythm instrument for 4-beat chord strokes.

[Condition.]
The condition of the neck and wood has been inspected and adjusted by a professional acoustic guitar craftsman, and all parts are in excellent condition.
The neck has been straightened and tuned with no chatter or jamming, and the string height at the 12th fret is set at 2mm on the 6th string side and 1.6mm on the 1st string side.
There are some cracks on the side of the body, but there are no other major damages that are noticeable.

This is an overwhelming appearance born from the fusion of old and new flagship models.
