Description

This one checks all the boxes…Sunburst sides and back of neck, elevated fretboard, nice arch to the top with no sound hole or under bridge top sink, a gorgeous hand carved two-piece book-matched mahogany back, pearl inlaid logo, and an original Gibson “Red Line” Case. Original Pickguard included. The interior has no bracing on the back, which really lets the grain of the mahogany on the back shine when viewed through the sound hole. A few small areas of finish touchup that I did not notice until I got it outside in the natural October sunlight, one small cracked area at the tail by the tailpiece, which has a cleat under it. Has the highly desirable elevated fretboard, which lets the top vibrate more, and allows room for a DeArmond sliding pickup if you want to add one. Appears this had had a neck reset, and I’m guessing re-fret. These Gibson’s from the 1930’s are rare underappreciated gems. Neck thickness 1st Fret: .94 7th Fret: .99 1 47/64ths at the nut. 16” wide arched back. The FON is faded and illegible.
