Description

Nice players grade L-50 16”archtop, with no cracks to the top, back or sides. Great price for a 50’s all solid, all carved Gibson using old wood.

Solid carved spruce top, solid carved maple back and sides, with solid mahogany neck. A fun playing guitar that would sound great with a floating pickup.

Brazilian rosewood fretboard with trapezoidal inlay, bound back, top and fretboard, 1 11/16ths nut. Early non-beveled original pickguard, original early style patent # Kluson tuners with replaced plastic buttons. Original frets have playwear but life left. 7th fret inlay has some signs of glue on it, which could be scrapped off.

Top has pickwear on the treble side by the neck. Worn and weather checked but not treated poorly. Two small tack nails on back of headstock like for a store label. Headstock missing decal logo.

Invisible slight headstock repair to the face only done so long ago the headstock face finish has weather checked to look original. Had a small crack to the front on the peg head face only, the headstock back and sides show no cracks. It must have been a clean break and not all the way through, neck is solid as a rock. Paint on the truss rod, and a slight imperfection on the face near the nut are the only clues that this occurred.

No FON number visible, so year is an estimate. Width of neck at: 1st Fret: .936, 7th Fret: 1.030, 12th Fret: 1.628. Non original soft shell case.
