Here we have one of the rarest pre-war Gibson flat tops ever produced, probably a one-off custom order.
Starting with the iconic Gibson L guitar body, this rare beauty features a Cremona sunburst spruce top, beautiful straight grained rosewood back & sides, triple-bound on both top and back.
The headstock is quadruple bound with the script Gibson logo in mother-of-pearl and featuring the pearl inlaid ornamentation often found on the Gibson L-12 Model archtop guitars of the same period.
The action on the player-friendly “C”- shaped neck is quick and easy with the top-of-the-line Grover Imperial tuners that were also a feature of the upper-end Gibson guitar line.
Overall condition is clean, and except for two long professionally repaired top cracks, this fine instrument shows no more than normal handling wear for this venerable 90+ year old. The sound is AWESOME!!
