For Sale: Left Handed 1958 Gibson ES-175, Blonde Finish, One-Owner!

This is an original factory Left Handed Gibson 1958 ES-175N D, with original finish, wiring harness, electronics, and hardware. It is a one-owner guitar. It comes with a period-correct, aftermarket Ess & Ess hard case.
The guitar does have the following modifications: 1). There is an extra route which allows for the neck PUP to be closer to the neck, probably for an L-5 effect. 2). The pickguard has been cut to accommodate the re-positioning of the PUP. 3). The zigzag tailpiece has broken off at the bottom center hinge position, which is fairly typical of these tailpieces (On my 1959 ES-175, it has an earlier 50s trapeze tailpiece, which most likely was installed to replaced the cracked original zigzag tailpiece).

Regarding the issues: 1). I know of a very good luthier who I have used in the past who can almost make the route go away if the new owner decides to restore back to the original neck PUP alignment. 2). You can buy an aftermarket zigzag tailpiece, replace with an early 50s trapeze tailpiece, or repair the existing tailpiece. The cracked tailpiece is fully functional if left as is. 3). The pickguard can be left as is or replaced with a new one.

The ES-175 is the #1 target of poachers in the vintage guitar market, as the wiring harness, and specifically the PAFs, are interchangeable with $400K Bursts (the pole pieces have the same string alignment).
An original 57-62 ES-175 is at the top of the endangered species list. You see many of these harvested with just the carcass remaining and replaced with newer electronics and hardware.

The wiring harness alone is worth the price of the guitar, and plus you get an original factory left handed Gibson 1958 ES-175. If you could get Gibson to build you a new one (they won't, believe me I've tried), you'd pay around $15K and the guitar would be worth $7500 on the used market as soon as you bought it.

I have seen around a half-dozen left handed ES-175s with PAFs. They are impossible to find for sale. This one is far from perfect, but worth the price of admission.
