Just traded 2022 Gibson Custom Shop R4. The back of the head stock is stamped "DEMO". The instrument wasn't manufactured with a pickguard or are there holes for one. The instrument is a perfect R4 in as close to new as you will get, but with the added rarity of it being a demo. Almost perfect cosmetically with the exception of a small worm mark on the top below the tail piece, which doesn't photograph and 1 tiny (pin head) mark on back with a small very small mark on the cut a way. Honestly none of those were worth mentioning.
Not for the faint hearted is the R4 Neck. True to its nick name "Baseball Bat" it is just that. My calipers measure 0.93" center 1st fret and 1.03" center of the 12th fret. On the scale it comes in at 8 lbs. 10 Ozs.100% Original free of repairs, rash, cracks or modifications.
