Description

Collector grade 1952 Les Paul gold top that apparently didn't get played much because its in such great shape. Finish shines like new and the gold is vibrant with no greening or wear-just some minor checking and a few assorted dings but hey, I'm the same age as this guitar and I'm in much worse shape. There is some buckle worming on the back so we know it got played at some point in its life. Original small frets still in great condition. The guitar has been fitted with a MojoAxe compensated wrap over tailpiece. The original with the feet is in the case along with the original hang tag. This guitar is bone stock-nothing has ever been touched-all original electronics and solder (and rare Chicago Condenser Caps). Case is near mint. Plays beautifully and intonates well. No serial number as is typical of the early 52's. It has a number etched by a previous owner (drivers license?) on the back of the headstock. Guitar is quite light for an early gold top. It weighs just 8 lbs 8 ounces (8.5 lbs). Neck is the big fat profile typical of the era and shows no wear on the back or the board.
