Description

Now available, a great playing early 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom with a one piece neck and body.

This example has earlier features such as having no headstock volute, and the logo with no dot in the 'i'.

This guitar has recently been professionally restored having the following work done:

  • The bridge pickup is a period replacement late 60s t top to match the original neck pickup, 1x pot and tone capacitor are replaced.

  • The pickguard, jackplate, strap buttons, bridge saddles, and tailpiece are modern reproduction parts.

  • The guitar has been refretted some time ago, Frank Grubisa recently installed a new nut.

  • The headstock was badly repaired and the back of the neck refinished at some point, I had Frank Grubisa in Sydney properly repair and refinish the back of the neck with nitrocellolose. The neck has lost a little thickness near the lower frets from the previous repair however remains a comfortable even C shape.

  • The body has had clear overspray of the original finish long ago, probably when the neck was initially repaired.

Despite some modifications this guitar retains its original feel and vibe. The 3x original pots date to the 52nd week of '68, and the t-top pickups deliver the classic tone of these late 60s Les Paul Customs.

Includes a non original case in average condition.
