Electronics: Original
Pickups: Tim Shaw Patent # PAF's
Tuners: Professionally Installed Sperzels (Do not have the Originals, which after 34 years are most likely not able to hold tune.)
Bridge: Looks to be the Original Nashville Tune-O-Matic
Tailpiece: Bigsby Professionally Installed with the Stop Tail Piece Holes Professionally plugged and finished.
Hardware: Factory Chrome
Truss Rod: Fully Functional
Neck: Straight as an Arrow Free of Cracks or Repairs.
Cosmetics: No rash through the back finish, but there is what I call minor worming from 34 years of play.
Top: Deep dish carve top that shows polishing swirls from being wiped down over the years. From several feet away it looks as good as any newer Black Les Paul's in a showroom.
Neck Finish: The finish shows minimum wear for 34 years of age.
Frets: The frets show divots on the 1st 6 and the crowns are flat on most up to the 15th fret.

I chose not to level or crown the frets for the following reasons:
The instrument plays with Low Action Free of Dead Spots and or Buzzing Across the Fret Board.

It Intonated Beautifully.

The binding on the neck is as good and tight as it was in 1985. This was a Pro's #1 that has been Professionally Maintained. The binding and lack of shrinkage on the Head Stock, Fret Board Inlay, Nut and Bindings Reflect that.

Based on Reverb's Estimated Value I reduce the price for the next owner to make the decision on the fret wire.

The Ebony fret board has been well maintained throughout the years as the whole instrument reflects. The Chainsaw Case even stays open!

IMHO this is a Killer Vintage Les Paul Custom. I don't think you can get a more Honest Representation, which my feedback reflects.
