The Les Paul Custom was introduced in 1954 as a sister model to the Les Paul Goldtop, which sold well. With its intrepid black color and gorgeous gold parts, this model was nicknamed the "Black Beauty" for its beauty. This long-selling model has been used by countless famous musicians, including Randy Rose, Joe Perry, John Sykes, Slash, Doug Aldrich, and many others, and has become Gibson's flagship model.
This 1991 Les Paul Custom also features a white color, which is also known as the color used by Randy Rose. It is a traditional model with a maple top and mahogany back. It has the attack of maple and the warm midrange of mahogany, making it suitable for rock with a strong presence even when distorted. The neck is a thin 60's style neck. It has a fat, solid core, but with a sexy sound, and the body itself sounds great after more than 30 years of age.
