Description

Offered for sale; 1974 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe serial number 397062. This Les Paul is in very good plus condition. The neck and frets are fine; there is some “belt rash” on the back, not through the wood. There is one “ding” next to the binding near the volume and tone controls. The original Kluson tuners have been replaced with Grovers.

Les Paul guitars have gone through so many permutations over the years. In late 1960, Gibson replaced the Les Paul body shape with the SG design. When the original Les Paul was relaunched in the late '60s, the new "Standard" in the catalog was dubbed the Les Paul Deluxe and sported mini-humbucker pickups. Between 1972 and 1976, if someone ordered a Les Paul Deluxe with regular humbuckers instead of the mini-humbuckers, the guitar would have the word "Standard" on the truss rod cover and would essentially be a Les Paul Standard.

Features include a carved maple top, 4-piece pancake body, (2 layers of mahogany with a thin maple layer in the middle) and a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. Trapezoid inlays, four control knobs, three-way pickup selector, stopbar tailpiece and a Tune-o-matic bridge.

This one owner “Deluxe” finished in Tobacco Sunburst has a nut width of 1 11/16” and weighs in at 10.2 lbs. This is a very playable Les Paul that will bring pleasure to its’ new owner for many years to come!

Original hard shell case included.

***Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
***This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.
***It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.
