2001 Gibson Custom Shop Historic Series ‘56 Reissue Les Paul Goldtop R6 All Gold

This 2001 Gibson Custom Shop Historic Series 1956 Reissue Les Paul R6 is in excellent condition. This guitar shows only light signs of play wear and some small dings on the backside top of the peghead (see photos). Otherwise, this instrument is clean as a whistle! These all gold models are hard to come by and this example is a real stunner. This Les Paul features a chunky rounded 1950s neck profile that is similar feeling to an R8 and has a 1 11/16” nut width. The neck on this guitar feels fantastic, substantial and is very comfortable, especially if you are a fan of chunky necks or 1950s Gibson neck profiles in general. Keeping with the tradition of the original 1956 Gibson Les Paul Model, this example features a factory stop tailpiece and fully adjustable Gibson ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic bridge for increased tuning stability and accurate intonation. The original fret wire on this R6 is in very good condition, shows light wear and has tons of life left. This instrument has been properly set up and it plays fantastic up and down the rosewood fingerboard with low smooth action and spot on intonation. The electronics are original and are in perfect working order. Both P-90 pickups sound outstanding and have a very open, articulate tone that excels for clean tones and overdriven tones alike with a snappy, clear and biting tone from the bridge position pickup and a rounder warmer fatter tone from the neck position pickup. The “poker chip” or pickup selector ring has been removed as an aesthetic choice, but is included in the case pocket. This Les Paul weighs 8lb 15oz and is exceptionally resonant when played unplugged - it rings out loud when strummed! The all gold Bullion finish on this Lester is absolutely stunning and quite an uncommon find on a R6. If you're looking for a righteous all gold Les Paul Model, then we highly recommend this example.
