PAF Les Pauls are thought of as the "holy grails" of the vintage electric market, and command prices beyond the reach of most players. This 1952 "Conversion" is a perfect alternative, combing real 50's wood with a pair of original Patent Applied for Humbucking pickups! This guitar started out as a first year 1952 Les Paul Standard. It features a beautifully carved maple top with a resonant mahogany body and the perfect early 50's "Soft V" neck. The original "trapeze" tail piece was replaced with a '54 style wrap around bridge that did not require the neck angle to be reset, and the guitar was equipped with two PAF pickups, giving this instrument the distinctive tone that attracted so many legendary guitar players to the later 50's Les Pauls. The combination of humbucking pickups and a wraparound tail piece make this a similar guitar to the "oxblood" model made famous by Jeff Beck. One of the best sounding Conversions we've ever had, this guitar has the look, feel and sound that simply can't be found in newer reproductions. If you've always lusted after the "burst" tone, this is a perfect opportunity to get there for a fraction of the price!
