Here's a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Recording guitar in original Ebony finish! 100% original example. The pots date the guitar to 1973. There's a small repair on the pickguard where the input jack is. Besides that though, there are no breaks, cracks, repairs. And besides some light buckle rash wear, overall the guitar is clean! According to the Gruhn's Vintage Guide book, Ebony finish wasn't a color option until 1978. This is only the second one we've ever seen (in Ebony finish), so most likely they were special orders. Black lights perfect. The guitar itself plays and sounds great! Consistent low action from top to bottom. Two great sounding low-impedance pickups, with high/low impedance selector, bass and tone controls. These have a huge array of tone....its no wonder it was Les Pauls favorite model! The guitar is marked a '2' but per the usual, impossible to say why. It's killer. Beautiful OHSC included!
