Gibson Custom Shop has proudly recreated this desirable version of the SG Custom down to the original construction methods and contours. The result is a beautiful, versatile and tremendous-sounding instrument that plays effortlessly. Built from a one-piece solid mahogany body with a VOS finish, with authentic-style appointments, this guitar screams with pure vintage style. The solid ebony fingerboard sits on top of the solid mahogany 1960 Slim Taper period-correct neck.
The 1963 SG is loaded with a trio of power Custombucker Alnico III unpotted humbuckers, complete with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers, black beauty capacitors and a three-way toggle switch to help you attain new sonic heights with clarity and sustain. The classic Maestro Vibrola is a unique and hearty addition, letting you soar to new lengths with ease.
