The SG makes its debut — 1961 brought some big changes to the Gibson Les Paul, most notably a sleek, all-new, double-cutaway, all-mahogany body design that would later be named the SG. This Gibson Custom Shop model recreates the cherished originals, complete with a one-piece solid mahogany body with a sleek VOS finish, along with a perfect solid mahogany neck that shows off an authentic '61 thin profile and an Indian rosewood fingerboard with a cream binding and twenty-two authentic medium jumbo frets for the ultimate playability and vintage style.

The pickups installed in this guitar are a trio of gold-plated Custombuckers (with matching authentic gold hardware), complete with two volume and two tone controls, along with a hand-wired harness with Black Beauty capacitors. The three-way toggle switch allows you to quickly dive between tones. Boasting vintage appointments, the 1961 Les Paul SG Standard has a Sideways Vibrola — a side-pull action vibrato that is similar to those found on models from the early 1960s.
