Here's a curious Les Paul deep cut, but rather a nice guitar all the same. Launched in 1998 in partnership with the Rainforest Alliance, the Smartwood Exotic is a thin-bodied Les Paul variant with a mahogany neck and body, 498R/498T pickups, gold hardware including vintage-style plastic-button keystone tuners, Tune-O-Matic bridge and stoptail, and a thin UV-cured finish. Here's where it gets unusual - there were a number of variations, all featuring exotic but sustainable timber. This particular one has an Ambay Guasu top and Curupay fingerboard, and weighs in a 7 pounds. Very resonant, plays great, neat looks, and with that thin body, very comfortable. All-original and pretty clean other than a couple dings on the edge of the top above the rear strap button area. Comes in its original hard case, made in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
