1957 Gibson Les Paul Special TV Yellow

This Gibson Les Paul Special was made in the USA in 1957. It has the original finish and mostly original parts although there are a few obvious modifications. First, someone added a tailpiece. When we got the guitar there was a home made bridge mounted in the original studs which an intonation adjustment mechanism. We had an original nickel bridge so installed that and have strung it up in normal fashion but left the tailpiece as it is mounted to the top and can't be removed without leaving some ugly scars. Second, when we got this it had grover tuners, but we have removed those and installed original klusons. There are some extra holes from the grovers, but they are covered up by the kluson strips so not visible unless you remove them. The pickups and electronics are all 100% stock but the pickup cavities appear to be slightly enlarged in a couple spots. There is no evidence that any other pickups were ever installed and we are inclined to think this is factory sloppy work as opposed to a mod but we can't be sure. Lastly, the pickguard is not original. This guitar has been pro-setup in our store and plays great. There is light play wear and finish checking. It weighs 7 pounds 10 ounces. The guitar comes with a non original hard case.
