1959 Gibson Les Paul Special Cherry

DESCRIPTION
For your consideration a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Special with a Cherry finish. At 61 years old this guitar is still rockin! Awesome player grade Special, lots of repairs bring the price down and give this Special a clean bill of health! Extremely comfortable fast vintage neck. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard! Best of both worlds with a Fralin P-90 and era correct Gibson P-90! Awesome weight! This is one tough guitar ready to get back to work!

Specs! This guitar is in good condition. Several repairs but currently in playing condition. Pick ups have been replaced with a Fralin P-90 in the neck and a period correct Gibson P-90 in the bridge. Non-original wiring (CTS pots and Orange cap). The neck was reset and strips of wood were add for reinforcement, the neck was then over sprayed and blended into the original finish on the back and sides. A route between the pick ups as well as in the neck cavity were filled with wood. At one point there was a stop tail piece add, the correlating holes were filled and then over sprayed. Non-original Deluxe Kluson reissue tuners. Non-original strap buttons. 1-11/16 nut width. 24.75″ scale length. Mahogany neck with a depth of .93″ at the first fret and .99″ at the twelfth fret. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with a 12″ radius. 22 original frets are in very good condition. Mahogany body with a cherry finish (w/ overspray). Wrap around tail piece. Comes with a non-original hard shell case. Weighs 7 pounds and 3 ounces.

Modifications: At some point the neck joint became loose (extremely common) and steel neck plate was added. To correct this the guitar had a neck reset and additional pieces of wood were added for reinforcement. The back of the neck was then over sprayed and blending with the original finish on the back and sides (top over sprayed as well). Some of the wood in the neck cavity was replaced. A big route between the pick up was filled. The pick ups have been replaced with a Fralin P-90 in the neck and a period correct Gibson P-90 in the bridge. Non-original wiring. Non-original strap buttons. At some point it had other tuners on it, a set of Reissue Deluxe Kluson tuners have been added. A stop tail piece was added at one point, the holes were filled and over sprayed.
