Description

This Gibson Les Paul Standard was made in the USA in 1958. This is a wonderful playing and sounding Les Paul made right before Gibson switched from the gold finish on this model to sunburst. The guitar mostly original and there are no neck cracks or breaks of any kind. There are three filled holes in the top. One is from a mini toggle that was installed between the knobs. The other two are behind the bridge and we are not sure what their purpose was. All three have been filled and professionally touched up just in the area of the filled holes, the finish on the top is otherwise original. The guitar shows considerable wear and finish checking. All of the parts are original except it has been refretted and has a new nut. Original PAF pickups and cream rings. The guitar weighs 8 pounds and 9 ounces. The bridge is original but a previous owner put a removeable wire retainer on it. The guitar has been pro-setup in our store. It comes with the case in the pictures which is a 4-latch so a little earlier but it appears to have been with the guitar quite a long time.
