In Wine Red (even says so under the lacquer in the neck pickup rout), non-sandwich Honduran mahogany body, bound plain maple top with a nice amount of dish to it compared to earlier years, 3-piece Honduran mahogany neck with no volute, bound Indian rosewood fingerboard with crown inlays, chrome hardware including Gibson-branded sealed tuners on a "Made in USA"-stamped headstock, ABR-1 bridge, and stoptail, all-original electronics including 1981-dated CTS pots under Gibson's curious diamond-shaped metal shield, and more excitingly a pair of factory-installed Tim Shaw PAFs that both meter in 7.35k range. Rounding out the features are a cream guard, gold speed knobs, and "Standard" truss rod cover. A little heavy but if you've read this much already about a late Norlin-era Les Paul that probably doesn't scare you. Good frets, plays great, pickups sound terrific, and comes in its original black plush-lined "Protector" case (one broken latch and missing Gibson badge but quite functional). Made in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
