1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard Black

Here’s a 1996 Gibson Les Paul Standard in beautiful black. Some modifications which are noted below, but they are player’s mods designed to make the guitar sound and play better than it did when it was new.

Replaced Nickel Grover tuners. Newer bone nut with a 1 11/16 inch width. Mahogany neck with traditional 24 3/4 inch scale. Bound Rosewood fingerboard which has been refretted with jumbo fretwire. Gibson ’57 Classic pickup in the bridge position and a Lindy Fralin Pure P.A.F. pickup in the neck position. Emerson pots and caps and a 50s style wiring harness. TonePro locking T-O-M bridge and locking studs on the tailpiece. Small crack in pickguard at top screw hole, but pickguard still intact. Shielding has been added to the pickup routs.

As we said, these mods add up to a much better guitar than the one which came off the Gibson factory line in 1996. This is a player’s guitar in the best possible sense.
